Festival in Armenia to bring together creators of most famous comics in EuropeMay 11, 2010 - 17:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Cartoonist, French journalist Laurent Melikian said that Yerevan will host the second international comics festival, due May 14-16. The festival will bring together around 20 cartoonists from Armenia and other countries, Melikian told a press conference in Yerevan. He said that the idea for a comics festival in Armenia was born after the French journalist’s meeting with cartoonist Tigran Mangassarian. Meanwhile, Tigran Mangassarian and 3 Dzuk (three fishes) group, the authors of Pentagon and Silence comic series, founded the Union of Comics Development in Angouleme in 2007. In its turn, the Union organized the first Comics Festival in Armenia in 2008. This year, the festival will bring together the most famous cartoonist of Europe. Melikian noted that Yerevan comic series will be published in Armenia in the near future, it is created by the best students of comics master classes organized in 2008.
