Armenian jazzmen may perform at Montreux Jazz Festival

PanARMENIAN.Net - Well known Armenian jazzman Levon Malkhasyan will take part in Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

“The festival is one of the most prestigious in the world. It hosted Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and many others. If my mission succeeds, our jazzmen will also have the opportunity,” Malkhasyan said, adding that his main task will be to persuade Herbie Hancock to play a concert in Yerevan.

As of today, Tigran Amasian from New York was the only Armenian to perform at the Festival.
