Theo Angelopoulos: in a sunny country I make cloudy films

PanARMENIAN.Net - Renowned Greek filmmaker Theo Angelopoulos is not sure whether his films are experimental but doesn't rank them as ordinary either.

“My films are rich with dampness symbols: fog, sea, snow and especially rain. In a sunny country I make cloudy films,” he said during a master class organized on the sidelines of Golden Apricot International Film Festival.

Asked to tell about his collaboration with legendaryItalianscreenwriter Tonino Guerra, the filmmaker said, “I first met him in 1981. We agreed to work together 5 minutes after our acquaintance. Guerra has a talent of being on good terms with all.”

Angelopoulos also informed that films by two young Greek directors may be screened at Golden Apricot in 2011.
