Former employee of Walt Disney, Warner Brothers and DreamWorks Frank Gladstone to conduct lectures in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Famous German journalist, animated film critic Johannes Wolters said that he likes ReAnimania festival. “To my opinion, its organizers have done a perfect job,” Wolters told a press conference in Yerevan on September 8.

He told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that he will happily cooperate with the festival also in future.

“We have extensive plans concerning Johannes Wolters. Hopefully, he will become the festival’s foreign consultant, as he is experienced in communicating with world renowned animators. Possibly, he will deal with their invitation to ReAnimania festival in future. I think we will become permanent partners,” noted President of ReAnimania festival Vrej Kassouny.

On September 8, Johannes Wolters conducted a master-class for journalists at Narekatsi Art Center. According to him, very important and interesting topics were discussed during the event.

“To my opinion, animation is a great art. It has a universal language, which is clear for everyone,” the critic said, adding that The Illusionist animated film is a bright example of it. Meanwhile, ReAnimania festival will open with screening of this very film. “There are only few dialogues in it, but the film tells much,” noted Wolters.

Vrej Kassouny noted that Apaga Technologies CEO Michel Davoudian assisted the festival organizers in obtaining the film. The Illusionist film was released recently. It will be its premiere screening in the region. Meanwhile, the film will arrive in Russia only in December. That is why its screening and Davoudian’s assistance in it are so important for us,” noted Kassouny.

For his part, Michel Davoudian said that the assistance of Apaga Technologies to ReAnimania festival should serve as a stimulus for the development of animation industry in Armenia. “Hopefully, others will follow our example,” concluded Michel Davoudian.

Vrej Kassouni added that another surprise is awaiting connoisseurs of animation. In addition to seminars by Max Howard and specialists of Aardman Animations, Frank Gladstone, who held management positions for Walt Disney, Warner Brothers and DreamWorks, will also conduct unique lectures and seminars in Yerevan. “Many people are still shocked by the news that this man will conduct lectures in Armenia. Thus, one should not miss the chance to be present at events with participation of such a giant of animation, as Frank Gladstone,” said Vrej Kassouny.
