Industrial designer, glass artist and painter Henrik Nikoyan was born on May 17, 1936, in Gyumri. In 1956 Mr. Nikoyan was admitted to Mukhina Art and Industry Higher School in Leningrad in the Department of Glass Art and Ceramics. Upon his graduation Henrik Nikoyan returned to Armenia and engaged in industrial design, both professionally and academically. In the diverse legacy of the artist, studio glass that opens new horizons of Nikoyan’s creativity is particularly prominent. The works presented in the exhibition Henrik Nikoyan: VISIONS incorporate the visionary images of the designer in the fiery colors of glass and are an important contribution in the decorative and applied arts of Armenia, the press service of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts reported.
