33 Transformations of Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring to be presented in YerevanMarch 12, 2011 - 15:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 15, NPAK center for innovational experimental art will launch Narek Avetissian’s exhibition. The exhibit, entitled Simulacrum: 33 Transformations of Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, is a multi-component project, featuring 33 variations of a famous portrait. Each of the variations is based on the style of renowned international artists, including some Armenian painters. Canvasses are accompanied by a video animation which shows the process of transformation of images from the original into new variations. The exhibition was organized with the assistance of the Armenian Ministry of Culture. The exhibit will be opened by Armenian musician Vahan Artsruni’s composition, Simulacrum, created especially for the event.
