Venice Biennale to host Armenian artists May 30, 2011 - 12:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Venice Biennale, a major contemporary art exhibition organized once every two years in Venice, Italy will kick off on June 1. This year, the 54th Biennale will feature the works by Armenian artists Harutyun Kalents, Karen Hakobyan and Harutyun Simonyan. Armenia’s participation in the event was made possible through Art and Cultural Studies Laboratory (ACSL) efforts. Within the framework of the event, seven partners from Armenia (ACSL), Bulgaria (Art Today Association), Germany (Henrich Boll Stiftung Brandenburg), Germany (Rohkunstbau Marqguardt ), Georgia (GeoAIR), Moldova (K:SAK), Slovakia (SPACE Gallery) connected in the Atlantis network through transnational cultural exchanges and cooperation in the field of contemporary art. On June 1-5 Atlantis 11 exhibition will present various works and activities from public intervention and video installations to live performances and panel discussions, with the issue of power and contemporary art will be scrutinized.
