Descendants of Genocide Victims Demand Compensation

The successors of 1915 genocide victims demand compensation not from the Turkish government, but from insurance companies who sold insurance policies in Western Armenia.

October 28, 2005
French "Axa" insurance company that sold thousands of insurance policies at the start of the 20th century has confirmed readiness to pay 17 million USD compensation to the descendants of genocide victims. With an aim to define the addressees of the compensation the company will soon open a special internet site with a list of all Armenian clients who insured their life and property before the events of 1915.
