Georgian Parliament unanimously endorsed government’s proposal to annul a five-year agreement with Russia on transit of Russian military personnel and cargo to Armenia via Georgia.
With Armenian flags and posters condemning the 1915 massacres in their hands, the rally participants demanded the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
The cabinet also approved abolishing the state security court and a new law allowing the right to peaceful protests; the changes need parliament approval.
Serzh Sargsyan noted that the visit will provide them with the opportunity to observe the situation on-site and create a clear idea of the NKR people’s aspiration to freedom.
