Gyumri startup develops affordable automation systems for SMEThe startup, meanwhile, succeeded in development of a product that could meet demands of the majority of the market participants. Nowadays the success of a business depends on introduction of management systems. However, most of innovative solutions are applied by major enterprises due to their high cost. Using available microcomputers and free software, Gyumri-based startup Brick Evolution is developing a hardware allowing small and middle businesses to use identical innovative solutions. Applying the platforms developed by the team, various automation systems can be created. December 14, 2015 PanARMENIAN.Net - Company founder Armen Ghazarov told PanARMENIAN.Net that Brick Evolution was formed in spring 2015 as part of a co-financed grant provided in the framework of Enterprise Incubator Foundation with the assistance of the World Bank and Armenian Economy Ministry.
The examination of the local and international markets revealed that the innovative solutions and automation systems supposed for businesses are affordable mostly for major enterprises and demand big investments. The startup, meanwhile, succeeded in development of a product that could meet demands of the majority of the market participants. The team created three Brick Evolution platforms meant for small and middle businesses. The first platform titled VoiceBrick is a digital automatic telephone exchange, which uses commutation of packages transferred through IP protocol. Calls are made by means of a system of recorded IVR voice message reports that function as calls router within the call-center. As a matter of fact it’s a compact device managing the incoming and outgoing calls.
“The second platform titled SensorBrick is a multifunctional indicator which gathers and analyzes information about the humidity, temperature and other indexes in the room. The technology can be useful for archives and companies with server rooms or server-based boxes. Sharp fluctuations of temperature or humidity are harmful for office equipment, so the device fitted with graphic interface detects these changes and reports to the administrator via sms message or other means of communication. At that, the norms of temperature, pressure and other indexes are determined by the users themselves,” Ghazarov said.
The third platform PowerBrick is office electricity management system, which can turn on and off any plugged devices as well as the outer illumination. The system is connected to the main energy source and controlled via graphic interface, while the human factor is reduced to the minimum. “Motherboards are bought abroad, as there are no manufacturers in Armenia. However, it’s then modified to perform new functions. As to the programing constituent, it’s being completely developed by the company. The startup is situated in the Gyumri Information Technologies Center (GITC), while eight of the eleven team members are local students,” Ghazarov said.
The startup has already signed contracts with several companies and deliveries will start upon accomplishment of all platforms. According to Brick Evolution founder, the company is internationally oriented. “The problem for Armenia is common. There are a number of expensive identical solutions on the one hand and affordable Chinese products without any manufacturer support on the other hand,” he said. Brick Evolution will implement maintenance support via email and phone communication, with personal approach to each client. Thanks to the software flexibility, the owners will get the basic configuration as well as the possibility of adding any desirable functions.
Ghazarov said that in the future the startup will begin development of working process optimization management system ERP, which will manage integration of production and operations, labor resources, finances and actives. The system that gains more and more popularity at the international market is meant for uninterrupted optimization of the enterprise resources through specialized integrated package of applied software which secures a common model of data and processes for all business lines.
