GeoProMining to sue RA Control Chamber

PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2010, the Armenian Control Chamber (CC) conducted inspections at GeoProMining Gold company and prepared a report, many provisions of which contain mistakes and wrong conclusions.

The Public Relations Department of the company reported that though the company has officially provided the CC with its objections and explanations within the set terms, they have not been taken into consideration.

Moreover, they have been disregarded, what is a violation of the RA Constitution and Law on Administration Principles and Administrative Proceedings.

“Unfortunately, the report, which contains numerous legal and factual mistakes, has become available to the public, as a result of which some media outlets used it as a source for publications, which do not correspond to the reality.

During its work with the CC, GeoProMining Gold company expressed willingness to fully cooperate with the CC. Moreover, the company provided the CC with access to all information required by it, though obtainment of these materials was beyond the matter of its inspection,” the company said.

Taking this into consideration, GeoProMining Gold officially stated that it is going to apply to judicial instances with a claim against illegal actions of the Control Chamber.

Earlier, Chairman of the RA CC Ishkhan Zakaryan reported that the CC offers the Armenian government to discuss suspension of exploitation of Sotq (Gegharkunik) and Meghradzor (Kotayk) gold deposits by GeoProMining company, as violations have been revealed there during inspections.
