Bribes speed up problems resolution?December 10, 2010 - 18:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On December 10, Program Manager of Caucasus Research Resource Centers-Armenia (CRRC) Yevgenya Paturyan said that more and more Armenians consider corruption to be a fact of life and that there is nothing for it. Presenting the results of three surveys conducted in Armenia from 2008 to 2010 by CRRC jointly with the USAID Mobilizing Action Against Corruption (MAAC) Activity, Paturyan told a press conference in Yerevan that 82% of Armenian respondents believe that corruption is a serious task, while 65% of them consider it to be a normal phenomenon. Besides, 31% of respondents said that the lack of another way for problems resolution forces people to pay bribes. Another 28% of Armenian respondents think that bribes speed up problems resolution, while 13% of them said that bribes are paid to avoid punishment. Any decisions were postponed until the end of next month after French and Greek parliamentary elections on June 17. Armenian Prime Minister met with the head of International Fund for Agricultural Development Programs in Armenia. The market average rate of USD on May 23 totaled AMD 401,59 increasing by 0.52 point compared to May 22.
