Azerbaijan vexed over section on Nagorno Karabakh in Latvian textbook

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Embassy of Azerbaijan has handed a note to Latvia due to “mistakes” regarding the inexistent “territorial integrity” of Azerbaijan in a textbook titled The New World Geography.

As the advisor of the Embassy Geray Muradov told APA, representatives of the embassies of GUAM member states in Latvia held a meeting on February 19. Moreover, at the Latvian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Elman Zeynalov expressed his concern over the “mistakes” made in the textbook and handed a note, the news agency reported.

Baku was vexed over the fact that the textbook featured a section on the Nagorno Karabakh as well as the flag of the Republic.

The advisor also added that an investigation was carried out in this regard. To Azerbaijan’s joy, the investigation found that the textbook is not used in secondary schools. The Education Ministry of Latvia has confirmed this fact.

Azerbaijan is in the habit of overreacting to any mention of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in foreign textbooks, maps or websites, taking every effort to push its agenda with claims of "territorial integrity."
