France’s Macron announces Armenia visit

PanARMENIAN.Net - French Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte has revealed that French President Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Yerevan on a state visit.

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan on Thursday, February 14 met Lacôte and Regional Director at the French Development Agency Gaëlle Assayag.

Grigoryan stressed the importance of the development of cooperation with France, including for the implementation of government reforms.

He unveiled the main provisions of the government program, at the same time detailing the possibilities of developing bilateral relations within the framework of the Armenia-EU partnership agenda.

The European Parliament, Great Britain, Romania, Denmark, Bulgaria, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have so far ratified the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement .

Lacôte said France is ready to deepen cooperation with Armenia both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Stressing that Macron has recently announced his intention to travel to Armenia on a state visit, the ambassador said that the visit would also contribute to clarifying the further expansion of bilateral programs.

Assayag, meanwhile, presented the process of reforms implemented in Armenia, as well as expressed readiness to develop new programs in the future that go in line with the reforms undertaken by the authorities of the country.

Macron revealed recently that France will make April 24 a "national day of commemoration of the Armenian Genocide".
