Armenia, Artsakh creating common information filed

ArmenTel CJSC (Beeline trademark) has announced automatic activation of roaming service for Beeline postpaid subscribers in Artsakh. Earlier, the service activation in NKR cost AMD 15000 and 30000 for legal and physical persons respectively.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Meanwhile, Artsakh faces numerous problems while developing high technology industries, republic’s Culture Minister Narine Aghabalyan said. “There are a number of programs carried out in Armenia. However, well known companies and financial organizations can’t issue a loan for an unrecognized republic. To resolve the problem, we need assistance from Armenia and Diaspora,” she said.

The Minister attached importance to establishment of IT development center, which can offer new solutions for the field. For his part, center director Vladimir Grigoryan noted that over 20 educational projected have been implemented since May.

Nork analytical center has developed a new e-system of national register for Artsakh Justice Ministry. “The system is currently being tested,” Hayk Chobanyan, director of the center, told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. “Our center opened a branch in Stepanakert 2 years ago. Now, we cooperate with 5 state agencies with a purpose to create instruments of e-governance in the republic, including circulation of documents, personnel control, etc,” he said.

Tsakhkadzor hosted an informal meeting of IT Club members on August 21-22, with representatives of USAID/CAPS, Microsoft, UNICOMP, ARMACAD, UITE, GNC Alfa, NeoMedia organizations participating. The meeting was organized by X-TECH и SHAHUMYAN MEDIA companies, with the financial support of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), within Competitive Armenian Private Sector (CAPS) program frameworks. IT Club was formed to enable exchange of experience between companies engaged in information technology sphere. The club lists over 190 members; 19 meetings were organized up till now.

6 winners of the 4th Armenian computer games championship were announced. Rudolf Shahgaldyan, Tigran Balayan and Nerses Gevorgyan, students of State Engineering University of Armenia and the winners of FIFA 10, will take part in the finals of World Cyber Games (WCG). Hrant Shahbazyan, Arthur Manukyan and Narek Hambardzumyan are the winners of Call of Duty: Modern WarFare2. All 6 were gifted licensed copies of computer software. They are also offered an opportunity to play a game of paintball.

VivaCell-MTS, subsidiary of Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, has announced the start of sale of special3FF microSIM-cards for multiple use in data devices and some mobile handsets, the company said in a press release. Unlike traditional SIM-cards with dimensions 15x25 mm, which work in all phones and modems available in the market, the new 3FF microSIM-cards for use in data devices and some mobile handsets have half the size - 12x15 mm.
