VivaCell-MTS allocated AMD 1,086,000,000 for cultural initiatives in Armenia in 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 15, Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan and VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian held a press conference on jointly implemented projects and future plans.

Poghosyan said that the Armenian Ministry of Culture highly appreciates VivaCell-MTS full-fledged support to the initiatives promoting the Armenian culture worldwide.

The culture remains within the focus of the Corporate Responsibility activities of VivaCell-MTS. Specifically, Yirikyan said that AMD 1,086,000,000 was allocated by VivaCell-MTS for cultural initiatives in the frames of its commitment as the Culture’s Friend for 2010.

“Our culture defines who we really are, it shapes our identity. It is the most valuable treasure a Nation should preserve and cherish from one generation to the other,” stated VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.

According to him, VivaCell-MTS reaffirms its readiness to support national cultural initiatives.

The cultural initiatives implemented through the sponsorship of VivaCell-MTS embrace a variety of spheres and genres: the Armenian staging of “Eugene Onegin” opera, From Ararat to Zion documentary, Ian Gillan’ concert aimed at reconstruction of a musical school in Gyumri, annual Golden Apricot International Film Festival, Return and Open music festivals, round-the-world voyage of Armenia ship, Serj Tankian’s concert, the Armenian Monuments Awareness Project promoting general awareness of Armenian identity, media projects related to culture, etc.
