Equipment in value of 3mln euros granted to CANDLE centerJune 25, 2010 - 18:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the RA State Committee for Science Samvel Harutyunyan said that European countries granted equipment in the value of 3mln euros to CANDLE center. Five scientific centers with experimental stations are envisaged to be opened under the project on creation of CANDLE international scientific center in Armenia, Harutyunyan told journalists in Yerevan. CANDLE center, which is environmentally safe, will be a unique project in post-soviet states, as well as countries of Near East and Eastern Europe. Armenia’s government will participate in this scientific project, covering 25% of expenses for the center’s creation. CANDLE is a project of 3 gigaelectronvolts energy, third generation synchrotron light source. It was designed by Armenian scientists and was highly estimated by an international expert commission, as a world-class project and brilliant initiative for the development of science and technology in Armenia.
