ArmenTel proceeds amounted to AMD 17bln in second quarter of 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - 6.5% drop was recorded in the net operating revenues of ArmenTel company in the second quarter of 2010 as compared with the same period in 2009, totaling AMD 17bln. Meanwhile, the most considerable decline was observed in mobile telephony (-8.3%).

Mobile revenues totaled AMD 6.7bln, while fixed-line revenues amounted to AMD 10.3bln, the press service of ArmenTel CJSC told PanARMENIAN.Net with reference to Second Quarter 2010 Operating and Financial Results of VimpelCom Ltd.

The number of broadband Internet users grew by 158.9%, totaling 49.7thous subscribers. Meanwhile, 16.7% growth was recorded in the number of subscribers of ArmenTel (Beeline brand) company’s mobile telephony in the second quarter of 2010 as compared with the same period in 2009, amounting to 567,000.

Besides, 13.3% growth was recorded in monthly MOUs (subscriber’s minutes of use) as compared with the second quarter of 2009 (270.1 minutes.)

ArmenTel CJSC (Beeline brand) is a subsidiary of VimpelCom Ltd group, which consists of telecommunications operators providing voice and data services through a range of wireless, fixed and broadband technologies. VimpelCom Ltd group has operations in Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, covering territory with a total population of about 340 million. Its services are provided under Beeline brands.
