TEDx Yerevan Women conference scheduled for December 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - TEDx Yerevan Women conference is scheduled for December 2010.

The event, prompted by a dwindling number of women at TED conferences, will cover problems and achievements of women. It will also include a video transmission of presentations, TEDx Yerevan licensee Christina Sargsyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

At TEDx Women, both men and women will have a chance to deliver presentations. TED (Technology Entertainment Design) is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and Gordon Brown.

TEDx is supported in Armenia by Civilitas Foundation and Professionals for Civil Society NGO.
