ArmenTel, Microsoft join Computer for All program

PanARMENIAN.Net - The official startup ceremony of Computer for All took place in Yerevan on December 8.

According to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the program was one of the government’s priorities in 2010.

Igor Klimko, CEO of ArmenTel CJSC which joined the campaign this day, said the company sold about 1000 computers without banking or governmental assistance in 2010 .

Besides, an agreement with Microsoft will be signed in December. As Microsoft Armenia director Grigor Barseghyan noted, the company will provide financial and network services.

The program costs $6 million, of which $3 million will be allocated by the World Bank and another $3 million by the Armenian government.

HP, Lenovo and Dell show interest in the program.

The number of trade points is supposed to reach 100.
