Armenian-Indian CoEICT building to be constructed by autumn 2011February 2, 2011 - 15:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The building of the Armenian-Indian Center of Excellence in ICT (CoEICT) is expected to be constructed by September-October 2011. The tender will be announced in the near future, Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) CEO Bagrat Yengibaryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. “Meanwhile, we will continue organizing workshops,” he said. “3 IT specialists have already returned from India, where they had a training course. 5 more specialists are still there and will come back in March.” Yengibaryan also informed that the Indian side has already delivered over 6 thousand of textbooks and a part of equipment. “Super computer Param will be brought by the autumn,” he said. Establishment of the Indian-Armenian Center of Excellence was discussed and agreed between the Governments of India and Armenia and set forth in the respective Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 26, 2009. The Project overall objective is to establish a specialized infrastructure for delivery of IT-related training and R&D programs to create new opportunities for IT workforce skills development in Armenia. The Center of Excellence in ICT (CoEICT) will be equipped with a state-of-the-art High Performance Computing (HPC) Facility and focused at the following key areas: Advanced IT Training; R&D activities; Certification and Consultancy in different areas of interest. The Center’s goals will also organize events for teachers & students (Undergraduate & Postgraduate) in the field of ICT.
