iPad2 to reach Armenia March 25

PanARMENIAN.Net - iPad2 which was officially unveiled by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs on March 2 will be delivered to Armenia on March 25, the date of international release.

Lilit Martirosyan, PR officer of Orange Armenia, Apple’s official representative in RA, said that they can’t announce the exact date of delivery. Neither she revealed whether new shipment will contain iPad or iPad2. Martirosyan, however, voiced hope that the price will be affordable.

Meanwhile, Aram Tadevosyan, sales manager at iPhone.am network, Apple’s reseller in Armenia, said that iPad2 will be in Armenia on March 25. He noted that these will be Wi-Fi models. “3G models won’t be delivered. The price will depend on customs clearance tariffs,” he told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

He said that the price of iPad Wi-Fi will be cut by AMD 30 thousand, but the cost of iPad 3G won’t change.

According benzinga.com, Apple is cutting the price of its first iPad after it announced the second version of the iPad. Each model of the iPad has been reduced $100, which brings the entry level 16 GB Wi-Fi-only iPad to $399 and the most expensive 64 GB Wi-Fi + 3G model down to $729, down from $829. Refurbished first-generation iPads are even cheaper. A refurbished 16 GB Wi-Fi iPad is priced at $349, while a refurbished 64 GB Wi-Fi + 3G iPad is $659.
