Facebook acquires more app developers

PanARMENIAN.Net - Facebook has added to its collection of mobile software developers and has brought Snaptu - a company that had previously developed a cut-down version of the Facebook website for use on mobile phones.

The Facebook for Feature Phones app they developed currently works on more than 2,500 devices.

In a short posting on the company blog, they said that they had "decided that working as part of the Facebook team offered the best opportunity to keep accelerating the pace of our product development."

According to cellular-news, the acquisition is expected to close within a few weeks. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. The privately held company is based in London, with offices in Tel Aviv and Silicon Valley and is backed by Sequoia and Carmel Ventures.
