Yerevan to host "PowerPoint + Karaoke" unconventional eventMarch 23, 2011 - 12:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A "PowerPoint + Karaoke" unconventional demo event which combines entertainment, training, contest and networking will kick off at 7 o’clock at Bureaucrat bookstore the first time in Armenia. The event is organized by Armenian Project Management Association (APMA). The initiative belongs to Hayk Asriyants. “I bring PowerPoint Presentations on random topics in advance, and the participants cannot see those presentations before the event. Before the event starts, the organizers line up the presentations. And during the event, each participant is supposed to deliver an impromptu presentation based on one of those,” APMA CEO Albert Poghosyan said. According to Albert Poghosyan very often, office workers get bored and tired of corporate routine: action plans, meetings and especially PowerPoint presentations.” Why not have fun with traditional Microsoft PowerPoint, develop skills in public speaking, selling and presentation, compete with colleagues and partners,” he said. Each participant will be given 6-7 minutes for representation. The event is open to everyone. According to Albert Poghosyan, it will held once in 2 weeks. At the end of the event a winner will be chosen through voting and will be given a funny gift. "PowerPoint + Karaoke" was first held in Berlin, Germany, in 2006. It aimed to make traditional PowerPoint presentations a funny event. Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
