Russian President’s LJ blog becomes another victim of hacker attacksApril 6, 2011 - 19:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s Livejournal blog became another victim of the series of attacks aimed against the blogging platform. The presidential blog was unavailable for almost an hour, similarly to those of many popular LJ users. At present, cyber attacks continue, with LJ pages having difficulty to load. The LiveJournal blogging site, hugely popular in Russia, on March 30 fell victim to a major cyber attack that bloggers said appeared an attempt to silence political discussion ahead of elections. The attack, which began earlier this week, was a so-called distributed denial of service (DDoS), which overloads a website's bandwidth by making thousands of computers access it repeatedly, its owner said.
