Google releases Chrome with improved Flash Player

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google is releasing a stable version of Chrome with Adobe Flash Player 10.3, an important release of Flash Player that allows users to delete a digital trail that some unscrupulous web sites have been using to follow them.

Google previously introduced the ability to delete Flash cookies, or what technically should be called local shared objects (LSOs), in a developmental version of Chrome that carried a test version of Flash Player 10.3.

LSOs are supposed to store the user preferences, like the volume of Flash video playback, but can be used to restore cookies that can track what he/she is doing.

Adobe released the full version of Flash Player 10.3, separately and as part of the new version of Google Chrome. Thanks to the code in Flash Player 10.3, Chrome users will be able to delete Flash cookies and other local plug-in data.

Apart from the introduction of the Flash cookie deletion feature, both the Flash Player and Chrome updates fix security vulnerabilities. Flash Player 10.3 fixes a number of flaws, including one that could allow a user to take control of a system by using an exploit that uses a Flash file hidden in a Word document.

This release of Chrome fixes two high vulnerability security bugs, one in Webkit and one that has to do with an integer overflow in SVG filters, both discovered by Google's security team.
