South Caucasus Railways head meets with young employees

PanARMENIAN.Net - Director General of South Caucasus Railways (SCR) CJSC met with the members of the Youth Council of the Company, representing all structural units of the railway. Victor Rebetshighlighted the importance of implementation of the program "Youth of CJSC SCR for 2011-2015", young professionals’ capacity building, ensuring their career growth, and enhancing their skills and knowledge.

"Among 786 employees of the Company with higher education, 173 staff members are young professionals under the age of 31 with 17 young professionals enrolled in the reserve for promotion to managerial positions. The number of SCR young employees has also grown: now it is over 18% of the total number of employees, despite the fact the index grossed 14% not long ago. This indicates the rejuvenation of the railway staff, youth’s enhanced desire to express themselves", Mr. Rebets siad.

SCR head stressed the issue of providing material incentives to young employees and ensuring decent pay for them. He underscored the need to maximize the involvement of youth in the labor process, to motivate young employees to enhance professional knowledge, improve the results of professional activities, as well as to create a qualitatively new system of incentives for young people aimed to create a highly competitive environment.

Mr. Rebets noted that SCR regularly sends young railway employees to pursue higher education in leading Armenian and Russian universities.

Chairman of the Youth Council Vahe Davtyan, in turn, briefed the head of the Company on core program structure and the tasks included in the Council committees.

"Currently, we face the problem to intensify the dialogue between the Youth Council and the Company's management. 2012 is declared a Year of the staff, which will lead the implementation of our youth policy to a new level. It is obvious that the youth is the key introducer of Company’s values to the external environment, which in turn increases our competitiveness in the labor market,” said V. Davtyan.
