Freestyle Digital Media picks up rights to “A Bird of the Air” comedy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Freestyle Digital Media has acquired all non-theatrical North American rights to director Margaret Whitton’s romantic comedy A Bird of the Air from Tashtego Films, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Based on Joe Coomer’s novel The Loop as adapted by Roger Towne, the film stars Jackson Hurst and Rachel Nichols as a couple who meet when they join forces to find the owner of a mysterious parrot. It was produced by Steven Tabakin and Whitton, and exec produced by Warren Spector. The film was released theatrically in the fall by Paladin. It will be offered on DVD, VOD and for digital download on April 10.

The cast also includes Linda Emond, Buck Henry, Judith Ivey, Matte Osian, Rocco Sisto, Phyllis Somervile and Louis Zorich.

The deal was brokered by Susan Jackson, CEO of Freestyle Digital Media, and Tabakin of Tashtego Films in New York.
