“Eclipse” director to take up NBC’s "Hannibal"

PanARMENIAN.Net - NBC's new series "Hannibal" has just tapped a frighteningly good director.

David Slade, director of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and "30 Days of Night," will direct the pilot episode of NBC's "Hannibal," based on characters from Thomas Harris' novel "Red Dragon," The Wrap reported.

Slade will also serve as an executive producer on the pilot.

His television credits include the pilot for NBC's "Awake" and an episode for AMC's "Breaking Bad."

"Hannibal," which has already received a 13-episode order from the network, will focus on the early relationship between genius/cannibalistic serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter and his protege, FBI agent Will Graham. "Black Hawk Down" star Hugh Dancy will play Graham.

"Pushing Daisies" writer Bryan Fuller is writing the project and producing, along with Martha De Laurentiis, who produced 2001's "Hannibal," the 2002 version of "Red Dragon" and 2007's "Hannibal Rising."
