Armenian businessman in Russia kills three robbers in self-defenseApril 9, 2012 - 12:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A businessman in Russia’s Tula region killed three robbers, in an attempt to protect his family, wife and 5 children, including one-year-old infant. The assaulters attacked the Armenian household in Oktyabrsky village at about 8pm April 7. The owner, 52-year-old Gegham S., his wife, adult daughter and 4 junior kids were at home then. According to Life News, Gegham’s daughter-in-law was also present. “They came in, gathered all my family, started beating us and demanding that we give them money and gold. I gave them the gold, but they demanded more. They held the gun to my 7-month-old grandson’s head,” businessman told the journalists. After a while, with support of his daughter and daughter-in-law, Gegham managed to release himself and grab a kitchen knife. He stabbed all the four assaulters; three of them died, the forth one managed to flee. A criminal case is filed on the murder. “Character of the knife wounds implies that the attacker may have gone beyond the required self-defense,” Tatyana Sergeyeva, head of Tula Investigative committee department said. The businessman is currently in hospital with a head injury caused by one of the burglars. Some data suggest that one of businessman’s relatives could hint the robbers to Gegham’s house. “Currently the version of a family conflict is being considered. One of their relatives is now in another country,” Andrei Mishagin, acting head of Tula’s Internal Affairs department stated. Sergeyeva told journalists that the three killed assaulters and the one who fled were Georgian and Russian nationals, aged approximately 43-44. The criminals used Mazda 3, already found in the village suburbs. The investigation says assaulters have come to Tula province from Moscow outskirts. A criminal case is filed against the businessman by Russian Criminal Code’s Article 105, for murder of two and more people. Top stories Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
