My Armenia festival to kick off in June

PanARMENIAN.Net - My Armenia all-Armenian festival will mark its start on June 20, Diaspora Ministry's Panarmenian Programs Department head Atom Mkhitaryan and festival manager Samvel Haroyan said.

The festival will take place in Yerevan, Armenian provinces and Nagorno Karabakh, with participation of Diaspora dance groups, soloists and choirs, the organizers told a press conference on April 10.

Armenia's state budget allocated AMD 84 million for this purpose, to provide for the transportation and accommodation costs of Diaspora participants.

In addition to concerts, the festival will include round tables, trips, master classes, etc, a total of 50 events. A journalist conference will mark the end of the festival on October 4-7.

According to the organizers, smaller festivals are likely to be held in Armenian communities abroad in future.

My Armenia festival will take place once in every two years. The festival's video editing is underway, the anthem is being composed, while the symbol and website are already there.
