 Kurdish elite brings about independence efforts - expert April 14, 2012 - 17:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Struggle to independence has already been launched by Iraqi Kurdistan, according to an Armenian political analyst. In conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Levon Shirinyan noted that political elite has already been formed in Erbil (Iraqi Kurdistan), which automatically results in attempts to break away from the central authorities. “The people of Kurdistan are ‘armed to teeth’,” the expert said, deeming formation of a Kurdish statehood quite possible in near future in case of a powerful leader. Dwelling on the hike in gas prices, Iskandaryan said the change also affected other countries importing Russian gas. Armen Martirosyan noted that the price rise will further deteriorate the situation in the country, fostering emigration. In this connection, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian left for Strasbourg to attend CoE foreign ministers meeting.
