RPA MP: electoral bribe rumors aim to spread distrust

PanARMENIAN.Net - Talks on electoral bribes do not target this or that political force, but rather aim to breed distrust towards the election system in general, Artak Zakaryan, MP of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) running for the parliament by proportional system, said on April 18.

Commenting on opposition candidate Nikol Pashinyan’s recent election meetings, he said he did not rule out that it was the other party that sparked the intrigue. Zakaryan, however, did not detail what he meant to say.

“I urge our citizens not to yield to incitements, because some political forces resort to such moves attempting to create tensions and intrigues in the election campaign,” he noted.

Candidates of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) were attacked in the 7th constituency in Yerevan on April 15.

According to the ANC press service, ANC’s candidate by proportional system Babken Galoyan was injured, candidates Gayane Arustamyan and Zoya Tadevosyan were also assaulted.

Nikol Pashinyan nominated by ANC in 7th constituency blames his rival, RPA candidate Samvel Alexanyan and RPA for the attack.
