Armenia, Iran to strengthen cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 30, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met with Iran’s outgoing ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Sagayan.

According to RA Defense Ministry press service, the parties highly assessed the multifaceted relations between the two countries, stressing the programs implemented during the past 20 years of cooperation.

Discussion of regional issues, particularly common approach to ensuring regional security and conflict settlement were in focus of discussion.

Defense Minister voiced gratitude to the ambassador for fostering ties between the two countries. Iran’s envoy, in turn, noted that the strategic cooperation is based on the political will of both countries, as well as cultural-historical commonality of the two nations.

Minister Ohanyan expressed hope for the envoy to continue fostering Armenian-Iranian ties in future.
