“The Little Shop of Horrors” cult classic to be reimagined for Warner Bros.May 4, 2012 - 17:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - “Glee” and “Big Love” writer and co-producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is in early talks to reimagine “Little Shop of Horrors” for Warner Bros. with Joseph Gordon-Levitt taking a look as well, The Wrap reported. Marc Platt is producing the remake of the Roger Corman cult classic – which was already redone in 1986 by Frank Oz. Platt produced the critically acclaimed “Drive” and one of Broadway’s biggest successes, “Wicked.” “The Little Shop of Horrors” started as a feature comedy about a florist’s assistant who grows a plant with a particular taste for humans. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken turned it into a Broadway musical that preceded Oz’ musical comedy feature. Aguirre-Sacasa, a comic book writer, playwright and screenwriter all in one, would be charged with writing the script for this reboot. Two of his most recent projects aside from “Glee” include writing the book for “Spider Man: Turn Off the Dark,” the controversial but successful Broadway show, and the script for a remake of “Carrie.” Gordon-Levitt’s present involvement is best described as amorphous, as he wants to develop it, may star and could fill another role as well. Gordon-Levitt is about to hit screens in Christopher Nolan’s final take on Batman, “The Dark Knight Rises.” Top stories The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest.
