Fragments of the wall damaged the nearby dwelling house and ruined it. Fortunately, this caused no human injuries, but left the residents homeless. The church dating back to 1701 was being ruined due to recent heavy showers. According to the head of operative department of Georgian Emergency Situations Service Nodar Chumbadze, the incident occurred at about 2:30am. He said the building needed urgent repair, and relevant services had been informed on this. “The church faced the risk of collapsing; security norms have been maintained. Fortunately, nobody was injured,” Chumbadze said. Administration of Old Tbilisi will provide assistance to the family that lost their housing in the incident, Georgia Online reports.
