Cannes: Content nabs David Oyelowo’s

PanARMENIAN.Net - Content Media Corporation has acquired worldwide rights to "Complicit," a drama about terrorism and torture that begins shooting immediately in London and Morocco. The announcement was made in Cannes on Monday, May 20, The Wrap reported.

Directed by Niall MacCormick and written by Guy Hibbert, the film stars David Oyelowo, Arsher Ali and Stephen Campbell Moore. It deals with a British intelligence agent involved in the torture of a suspected terrorist.

The film will receive a UK premiere on Channel 4, which commissioned its production, before its worldwide theatrical release.

"It is a privilege to be bringing Guy Hibbert’s complex, thought provoking and hard-hitting script to the screen," said producer Jolyon Symonds in the Content press release announcing the acquisition. "That we are able to tackle such a controversial subject in this way is testimony to Channel 4’s ambition and commitment to distinctive drama."

Added producer Kevin Toolis, “'Complicit' is a movie that goes right to heart of that key moral question of our time. Can torture ever be justified? And how far can we go in the war on terror to stop another potential 9/11 attack without destroying the very democratic values we are fighting to preserve?”

Content Media Corporation is a film, television and digital distribution company based in London and Los Angeles.
