Samsung confirms it has no interest in buying Nokia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Samsung has confirmed that recent rumors suggesting it has any interest in buying Nokia are completely false, according to SlashGear.

The reports surfaced last week, which helped boost Nokia’s slipping shares up by 6 percent. However, those shares have dropped 2 percent following Samsung’s denial of the claims, calling them “complete speculation” and “not true.”

Despite the introduction of new Windows Phone devices, such as the Lumia 900 and 710 in the U.S., Nokia continues to struggle in its fight back into the smartphone market. Nokia’s devices have only been met with a lukewarm reception, although not likely a fault of its hardware. The Windows Phone operating system is also struggling to gain traction in the market.

Microsoft has also been rumored to be considering a buyout of Nokia, but reports claim that the company changed its mind after examining Nokia’s financials. It doesn’t make as much sense for Samsung to buy Nokia, but reports claim that the bid would be more Nokia’s patents, SlashGear says.
