Flipboard for Android hits the Play StoreJune 22, 2012 - 12:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Flipboard for Android has officially been released, hitting the Play Store after several weeks of leaky exclusivity on Samsung’s Galaxy S III, SlashGear reports. The socially-enabled news reader app pulls in content from RSS, Facebook and Twitter, and will soon – thanks to a deal announced this week – add Google+ to the list. Samsung had originally inked a deal with Flipboard’s developers to make the app an exclusive to the Korean company’s new flagship. That didn’t stop Android owners, though, who quickly sourced the APK and circulated it to those without a Galaxy S III. Now it’s officially available to all, though currently optimized for smartphones rather than tablets. Flipboard does have a version for the iPad, but it’s unclear whether the company believes the Android tablet market is sufficiently broad to make developing a tab-friendly interface for it. Flipboard for Android is a free download for the Play Store. Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
