Armenians are best chess players – Austrian President

PanARMENIAN.Net - Austrian President Heinz Fischer confessed having studied Armenian history.

“I read Forty Days of Musa Dagh by Franz Werfel at school, which impressed me greatly,” he said.

Asked if his exceptions from Armenia justified themselves, President Fischer said, “My expectations fully justified themselves. I am going to visit your cultural monuments tomorrow. As an Austrian I feel good in a country, where culture plays a significant role.”

Upon completion of his speech, he stressed Armenian chess players’ talent and success.

“Austrians are the best skiers, while Armenians are the best chess players; thus the score is 0-0,” Austrian leader said with a smile.
