BSEC summit inappropriate format for Karabakh issue, vice-FM told Baku![]() June 27, 2012 - 17:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 26, Istanbul hosted a summit of Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), with Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimyan heading Armenian delegation. In his speech, Mr. Hovakimyan briefed on the organization’s path for the past 20 years and Armenia’s role in BSEC activities. In response to Azerbaijani President’s unfounded accusations against Armenia, vice minister said, “According to BSEC basic documents, the organization must maintain the framework of the economic mandate without transforming into a platform for political discussions and accusations. BSEC summit is an inappropriate place for discussions on Nagorno Karabakh conflict, with OSCE Minsk Group being the only internationally recognized format for the issue. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
