ARFD rep. in talks to with Prosperous Armenia to appoint relative as Talin Mayor – paper

PanARMENIAN.Net - New scandal is brewing at ARF Dashnaktsutsyun, according to Hraparak daily.

ARFD member Artsvik Minasyan is negotiating for appointing his relative Tigran Harutyunyan as a Mayor of the Armenian town of Talin.

Harutyunyan is a native of a village of Shgharshik, Talin province, who’s been a businessman in Samara, Russia. In 2006, he returned to Armenia to open an auto repair station.

According to the paper’s sources, Minasyan tried to see Gagik Tsarukyan to secure his support as well as arrange a meeting with parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan.

However, the Republican Party of Armenia aims to appoint the head of local RPA structure Zhora Grigoryan to Talin Mayor’s post.

Mayor elections in the town are due August 5.
