ANC seeks to win RPA members over to opposition side, bloc rep. says![]() July 2, 2012 - 17:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc will take every effort to win members of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) over to the opposition’s side, ANC parliamentary group secretary said. “We’ll do our best to split the coalition and cause ex-coalition members to join ANC ranks,” Aram Manukyan told a news conference, characterizing the task as “solely political.” ‘The leadership, aiming to strengthen their positions at opposition’s expense, follows the same line of actions,” Manukyan said. As Manukyan noted, the block will be counting on those coalition members who voted against the government-proposed program. According to the oppositionist, ANC, Prosperous Armenia and ARF Dashnaktsutyun members’ voting against the government program proves similarity in the latters’ interests. Partner news Prior to the vote, RPA parliamentary group leader Galust Sahakyan announced the party’s decision to vote against the bill. At the meeting, the parties focused on the prospects of bilateral relations, and cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
