“If Only Everyone” helmer wants her film to be screened in Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Moscow International Film Festival opened great prospects to Natalya Belyauskene’s “If Only Everyone,” the film producer Michael Poghosian said.

The film, featured in Golden Apricot Yerevan-hosted film fest competition program, tells the story of a “belated” and “old-fashioned” friendship between nations.

The pic follows a girl named Sasha, the daughter of a Russian soldier who died in Artsakh war and an Armenian woman who had fallen victim to Sumgait pogroms.

After 20 long years, the girl travels to Armenia to plant a tree on the grave of her father. Her father’s army friends will join efforts to help her, live through trials and adventures together, understanding that their lives did have a purpose and that the tree they plant is a symbol of life, not just a token of memory for the departed.

“My acquaintance with Armenia started with meeting Karabakh war veterans,” the filmmaker Natalya Belyauskene said.

“I wish my picture could be shown in Azerbaijan. This is a peaceable film. I wouldn’t like it to be politicized. It’s a film about human fates,” she said.
