NATO SECRETARY GENERAL: RELATIONS WITH ARMENIA DEVELOP WELL

PanARMENIAN.Net - The relations between Armenia and NATO develop very well, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, who was in Armenia yesterday within the frames of his regional visit to the South Caucasus, stated. "Armenia is NATO's respected partner, who is making a significant contribution to the Kosovo operation", the Alliance Secretary General said. Mentioning that he had already visited Georgia and Azerbaijan, Mr. Scheffer noted that his visit is targeted to the development of relationships. "The necessity of my visit was caused by the resolution of the Istanbul Summit on concentrating attention at the Central Asia and Caucasus", NATO head said. To note, during the visit Jaap de Hoop Scheffer met with Armenian President Robert Kocharian, Prime Minister Andranik Margarian and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense.
