Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones join Luc Besson’s "Malavita" mob comedy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones are joining Robert De Niro in the action comedy "Malavita," the film's producers EuropaCorp and Relativity Media said, according to TheWrap.

Pfeiffer and Jones have both been busy this summer; she with supporting roles in "Dark Shadows" and "People Like Us," and he with a reprise of his Agent K role in "Men in Black 3."

Rounding out the cast of "Malavita" are Dianna Agron of "Glee" fame and John D’Leo, best known for his work in "The Wrestler."

French action maestro Luc Besson ("The Professional") is directing the film, which centers on a notorious mafia family who gets relocated to Normandy under the witness protection program. Despite the bucolic European setting, they quickly find it is difficult to abandon their old way of handling problems. Think of it as "Lilyhammer" with an ocean view.

The script was adapted by Besson from the book "Badfellas" by Tonino Benacquista.

Production is set to start this summer and the film will be released 2013.
