Sofia Vergara out-earns Kim Kardashian as TV’s highest-paid actressJuly 19, 2012 - 21:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sofia Vergara is named the highest earning woman on U.S. television by Forbes, beating Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria by few million dollars. Vergara owes her $19 million earnings over the past year to her hit show "Modern Family" as well as numerous endorsements including Burger King and CoverGirl. According to Forbes, the 40-year-old Colombian actress earns $7 million from television and $12 million from other projects. Her Hispanic roots help her to appeal to both English and Spanish audience and buyers. The magazine calls Vergara the biggest cross-over star since Desi Arnaz left the airwaves. "The truth is out that we're in this country and we're taking over," Sofia told Forbes. "To see people paying attention to the cultural changes ...is fantastic." Compared to Kardashian, Vergara wins by a million dollar due to an interest in Hispanic market. Although Kardashian owns a clothing line on Shears, Vergara gets better deals on KMart with the $7 million advance. Vergara also found a media company, Latin WE, which earned $27 million in revenues last year. Meanwhile, Longoria came in third with $15 million, thanks to "Desperate Housewives" which gave its actresses the biggest per-episode paycheck on television.
