Armenian Agriculture Minister forecasts 8-9% growth

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia will succeed in ensuring 8-9% agricultural growth in 2012, the country’s Agriculture Minister said.

Sergo Karapetyan cited the recently published statistical data, according to which gross agricultural production totaled AMD 203,6 bln. in the first half of 2012, increasing by 8,1% compared with the same period of 2011.

“The biggest growth was registered in crop industries (28 %), with 2% and 25,2%. growth recorded in livestock and fish production respectively. The tendencies will remain unchanged by the yearend, considering all the necessary preconditions to ensure 8-9% growth,” he said.
