GM Samvel Ter-Sahakyan climbs 3rd at World Junior U20 Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Samvel Ter-Sahakyan beat China’s Yi Wei in Athens-hosted World Junior U20 Chess Championships round 5 to climb to the 3rd place with 4,5 points.

Meanwhile, Karen Grigoryan and Vahe Baghdasaryan scored wins against Oliver Mihok (Hungary) and Anton Podolsky (Ukraine) respectively.

In the 6th round, Ter-Sahakyan will face off against China’s Yu Yangyi, with Grigoryan and Baghdasaryan to rival Yaroslav Zherebukh (Ukraine) and Aleksandar Indjic (Serbia) respectively.

Shushanna Sargsyan lost to Lisa Schut (Netherlands) in Girls U20 5th round.
