  Defense Minister visits Armenia’s north-eastern border area August 9, 2012 - 17:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 7, Armenian Defense Minister visited the north-eastern border area. Seyran Ohanyan familiarized himself with the large-scale construction works and tested the resistance of defense and engineering facilities at frontline military positions. In conversation with servicemen on duty, Minister Ohanyan hailed border zone defense points. He further visited a shooting ground in the north-eastern direction of the border zone. Upon completion of the visit, Chinari town schoolchildren handed kind wishes to the minister, stressing the role of a strong statehood and army. Dwelling on the hike in gas prices, Iskandaryan said the change also affected other countries importing Russian gas. Armen Martirosyan noted that the price rise will further deteriorate the situation in the country, fostering emigration. In this connection, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian left for Strasbourg to attend CoE foreign ministers meeting.
